Our Story & Experience
Black Peak Aoudad Guide Service is owned and operated by Ken and Connie Samford, a husband-and-wife team of seasoned hunters with decades of combined experience pursuing game across the United States and abroad. Their hunting journey has taken them through Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Old Mexico, Colorado, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Africa — each location contributing to a deep understanding of wildlife behavior, terrain, and ethical hunting practices.
While every destination offered something unique, far West Texas stood apart. The unforgiving terrain, resilient wildlife, and demanding conditions created the kind of hunting experience that requires patience, preparation, and respect. It was here that Ken and Connie chose to focus their time and build Black Peak Aoudad Guide Service.
Today, they guide individual hunters and small groups, offering hands-on instruction, thoughtful strategy, and a personal approach rooted in hard-earned field knowledge. Every hunt is conducted with integrity and a commitment to providing an honest, challenging, and memorable experience from start to finish.

What We Offer
We offer fully guided aoudad hunts for individual hunters and small groups in rugged West Texas terrain. Our hunts are built around preparation, patience, and a deep understanding of aoudad behavior, ensuring each experience is both challenging and rewarding.
